7 myths about weight loss.

Think you know a lot about how to lose weight?

Maybe so.

Or maybe you're falling in some myths.

According to a study appearing in the journal Forbes.com are seven myths about weight loss we must banished.

1 If you eat a little less and do a little more exercise end up dropping a lot of weight.

It is seen that according to current studies much less weight is lost when caloric intake is long term. That that 3500 calories per one pound (a little less than half a kilo) that resulted from earlier studies is lost, it seems that is not true.

2 It is important to set realistic weight loss goals to avoid frustration.

Several studies show that deserves to be ambitious, and more weight is lost when more aggressive targets are marked.

3.Es better health lose weight gradually.

It seems that aggressive diets produce a more significant results (16% weight loss compared with 10%) and also have negative health consequences at the end of the year.

4 Make sure that the patient is prepared to lose weight.

The analysis of whether or not someone is prepared to lose weight have no real predictive value on the weight you lost.

5. physical education classes prevent childhood obesity.

Apparently it is not. The impact of physical education classes in obesity is not significant. If I had known earlier I would have asked that those horrible classes in which we were forced to (try to) be banned jumping pony.

6 Breastfeeding does not protect against future obesity.

It seems that despite what anyone says world health organization, it is far from clear. Whereas my son has always taken a bottle am satisfied that that is a lie.

7 Sex burns many calories.

Surely this myth has produced large revenues for a seductive evening with some damsel overweight. However it seems that in reality that was overstated. Compared to previous studies, they were talking about 100 or 300 calories, recently talking about an average of 14 calories on average. If you want to sleep with someone, you better look for another excuse.

Although a magazine a certain prestige (Forbes.com) that breaks these myths, we must maintain a certain skepticism. Many of these myths are based on studies that have now been revised. But like those reviewed, you can review later today.

The smartest approach, in my opinion, is to look at your experience and see what works best for you. And when in doubt, opt for a healthy caution.
